2013 was a year that took me far and wide, with trips to Chicago, New Orleans, Paris, Basel and Philadelphia. A very special thank you to those who took the time to show me around your cities! As in years past, this roundup is a selection of both favorite artworks and favorite photographs as well as a reflection on people, pieces and places that are no more.
I’m very pleased to be included in Galerie F’s upcoming group show, Shot From The Hip: A Photography Exhibition, which opens in Chicago this Friday. I will be showing an affordable selection of prints and photo transfers on acrylic. This exhibition highlights photographers active in the urban environment and features work by Sergej Vutuc, Diane Ribaupierre, Brock Brake, Tom Fennell, Oscar Fotoflow, Eden Leavy, Pete Rangel, Senor Codo, and httpill. Sadly, I can’t make it out to Chicago this weekend, but if you’re in the area, please come out and support!
On the occasion of All City, a graffiti and street art initiative launched by the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, the Goethe-Institut Chicago is dedicating the month of January to street art in Germany. Programming includes free screenings of the graffiti films Whole Train and Alter Ego – both highly recommended – as well as an exhibition of Berlin and Munich street art photographs by yours truly and Los Angeles’ own Lord Jim. We’ll both be on hand to talk about the German street art scene at the opening this coming Friday night. If you’re in Chicago, please come out to support.
