In The Dream: Chris Stain, Billy Mode & Voke mural in Bushwick

During the final steamy days of July, artists Chris Stain, Billy Mode and Pat Voke braved the heat and humidity of NYC to paint the Factory Fresh curated Bushwick Art Park on Vandervoort Place. Together these childhood friends conquered the seemingly endless 25’ x 200’ wall, which had most recently been painted by Veng RWK.  For more pictures and information, go to their website at www.inthedream.org (which has apparently been scientifically proven not to be full of horseshit, so there you go!).

Skewville Goes Greener

No matter which side of this picket fence in Bushwick you are standing on, Skewville wants you to know that the other side “ain’t greenr”…

…but in just a couple of weeks one side will become a lot more beautiful when Skewville, Trust Art and Ali Ha of Factory Fresh come together for the Bushwick Art Park project. For one day (and in conjunction with Bushwick Open Studios), this artistic power trio will transform an underused and garbage-strewn street into a community sculpture park, featuring the work of Leon Reid IV, Specter, and Skewville. There will also be a brand new mural painted for the event, as well as local vendors and a corresponding group show inside of neighboring Factory Fresh Gallery.

Bushwick Block Party this Saturday

Factory Fresh and All City launch an ambitious effort to revitalize a much-neglected Bushwick block this Saturday, November 20th, starting at 2:00PM. Nevermind the garbage, I’ve witnessed more burnt out cars on Vandervoort Place than I care to remember. I welcome the idea of transforming this alleyway into Bushwick Art Park. Brooklyn artists Chris Stain, Gaia, Skewville, Imminent Disaster and others plus special guests Tek33 and Dscreet of London’s Burning Candy crew will give the project a jumpstart by painting a 200 foot long wall. See Skewville’s vision for the block in the slideshow below:

Come support the project, see great art being made, drink beer, eat some tacos . . .
. . . and be sure to stick around til 7:00 PM to view the premiere of Burning Candy’s DOTS film.
