Aiko’s Historic First on the Bowery/Houston Wall

With the completion of her intricate, stenciled mural titled Here’s Fun For Everyone, Japanese-born, Brooklyn-based artist Lady Aiko has the distinction of being the first female artist to paint the famed Bowery/Houston wall.

I’m in Miami Bitch! Photos From Art Basel, 2010

Going over my pictures from Miami and trying to decide what to post has been almost as challenging (and impossible) as it was to shoot everything that was going on during Art Basel in the first place! But for all that I missed (Burning Candy! London Police! Kid Acne!), I really had a fantastic time and felt like I never stopped moving, running into friends from all over the world and their artwork every step of the way. Graffiti Women are FRESHER

This past Sunday the women of graffiti were out in full force, when members of the YOUNITY collective got together to paint a sixty-two foot mural on the corner of Bedford Avenue and S. 5th St in Williamsburg. This live art production kicks off the festivities for the upcoming FRESHER! exhibit in the fall of 2009.
